Hello! My name is Alexandra Torres, it is a pleasure to meet you. As a dedicated mental health therapist, I am committed to providing clients with a safe, accepting, and compassionate environment rooted in empathy and unconditional positive regard.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, as well as a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. My clinical interests include multiculturalism, inclusion, social justice, and working with minorities and vulnerable populations such as the LGBTIQ+ community, individuals with disabilities, and immigrants, as well as empathy, anxiety, and ADHD. I take an eclectic therapeutic approach, integrating various methods tailored to each client’s unique needs. My practice emphasizes person-centered therapy, reality therapy, CBT, and REBT, always centering the client’s lived experience and personal strengths.
My professional credentials include National Certified Counselor (NCC), Licensed Rehabilitation Counselor in Puerto Rico, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), and Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. I believe deeply in the importance of creating a space where individuals feel accepted unconditionally, with empathy and congruence. My goal is to walk alongside each person with warmth and respect throughout their healing and personal growth journey.
My approach to therapy is empathetic, sensitive, individualized, and congruent—filled with humor, yet at the same time, making you feel validated. I understand that only you are the expert on your own situation, and I am here as a support to help you identify your blind spots and limiting thoughts. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Reality Therapy, person-centered therapy, and REBT, we will find a way to bring them to light and replace them with healthier ones that help you shape your best version.
You can expect a safe space from me where you can be yourself without judgment, but with empathy, authenticity, and sensitivity. I like to use humor and metaphors to create a warm environment where you can heal and grow. I believe there is always room for improvement, and as a team, we will find it.
