Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Alexandra! I’m a Latinx Licensed Mental Health Counselor who believes that therapy should be a place where you can show up as your whole self, without judgment and without having to pretend that everything is okay.

I know that starting therapy can feel vulnerable, and sometimes even a little intimidating. My goal is to make that process feel a little easier by creating a space where you feel safe, heard, understood, and accepted for who you are.

I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families who may be navigating trauma, relationships, identity and self-discovery, discrimination or stigma, life transitions, or the everyday challenges that can sometimes feel overwhelming. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Sometimes, knowing that you want something to feel different is enough.

I received my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am passionate about helping people better understand themselves, build confidence, develop healthier relationships, and create a life that feels meaningful to them. Wherever you are in your journey, I’m here to meet you there.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy is a partnership. You are the expert on your own life, and my role is to support you, ask the questions that help you look at things differently, and provide tools that can help you move toward the life you want.

My approach is person-centered, compassionate, and collaborative. I don’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach to therapy, so we’ll work together to figure out what feels most helpful for you. Depending on your needs and goals, I incorporate approaches such as DBT, ACT, mindfulness, EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Prolonged Exposure (PE).

Sometimes therapy means learning skills to manage overwhelming emotions. Sometimes it means processing experiences from the past, working through relationship patterns, exploring your identity, or learning how to be more present and connected to yourself. And sometimes, it simply means having a safe place to talk through what you’re going through.

My goal is for you to leave therapy feeling more empowered, more connected to yourself, and better equipped to handle whatever life brings your way. We’ll celebrate the progress along the way, even the small steps.

What you can expect from me

Think of our first session as an opportunity to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what has been going on in your life, and what you hope will be different through therapy.

You don’t have to come in with a perfectly organized story or know exactly what you need. We can figure that out together. I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences, strengths, challenges, and goals, while giving you plenty of space to share what feels comfortable.

Most importantly, you can expect a warm, supportive, and judgment-free environment. You are not expected to share everything on the first day, and we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.

My hope is that by the end of our first session, you feel like you’ve found a space where you can be yourself, feel genuinely heard, and begin taking those first steps toward the changes you’re looking for. Therapy is a journey, and you don’t have to take it alone.
