Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Alexia Thompson, a clinical mental health counselor with a passion for supporting individuals through their healing journeys. I hold a Bachelor's in Psychology with a minor in Diversity Studies and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Throughout my education I have had a special interest in adverse childhood experiences and traumas impact on the body and mind. I’m dedicated to helping clients cultivate empowering tools for self-healing and wellness.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I utilize EMDR, CBT, mindfulness, and self-compassion with clients to develop self awareness and improve self-talk while also working to repair and heal from past traumas or stressful events. Humor also finds its way into my sessions, allowing for more connection and comfort while we work together to create a new story for you.

What you can expect from our first session

You can expect to work on developing healthier coping skills, identifying patterns in yourself and relationships, learn more about your nervous system, and finding a sense of safety in yourself that may not have been there before due to past experiences. I want to support you in finding ease and joy in the world.
