Real Support, Real Growth Therapy with Connection to Heal, Understand, and Move Forward

About Me

Life can feel heavy when anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship stress keeps resurfacing, or when past adverse experiences feel impossible to move past. You don’t just need someone to listen—you need guidance and support to process trauma, build emotional regulation skills, and create real, lasting change.

I’m Alexis Acevedo, LCSW. I bring extensive experience supporting teens, adults, and families in private practice as well as across trauma-focused therapy, intensive outpatient programs (IOPs), juvenile services, child advocacy, crisis work, and community mental health. I’ve worked with adults navigating PTSD, complex PTSD, trauma, adverse childhood experiences, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and high-stress environments. My background allows me to meet you where you are and provide practical strategies grounded in real-world clinical expertise.

My approach is genuine, compassionate, and solution-focused. I help you identify what keeps you stuck, process difficult experiences safely, and build skills for emotional regulation, healthier relationships, clearer decision-making, and meaningful, lasting growth. I would be honored to support you on your journey.

My approach to therapy

My Approach

I use a collaborative, personalized approach grounded in evidence-based methods, including CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, emotional regulation strategies, relational healing, and boundary-setting. Beyond talk therapy, I help clients access resources, navigate systems, and build practical tools alongside coping strategies, so the support you receive extends into everyday life and helps you manage emotions, relationships, and daily challenges more effectively.
