Great to meet you!

I am Alexis, I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker- Clinical Practice and I believe one of the most important parts of therapy is having someone you can genuinely feel comfortable talking to. My professional background is primarily in the medical setting, therefore I am very familiar with the effects that chronic illness, terminal diagnosis, and traumatic injuries can have on us. I was educated at Winthrop University and obtained my Masters in 2013.

My approach to therapy

I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you're used to being the person who holds everything together for everyone else. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I want my clients to feel heard and understood but I also believe that therapy is a place for growth, so I'll gently challenge you when it can help you move forward.

What you can expect from me

As a therapist, I am genuine and approachable. You can expect compassion, honesty, humor when appropriate, and practical strategies you can actually use outside of our sessions. I don't believe that therapy has to feel overly clinical or formal to be meaningful.
