Great to meet you!

My name is Alexis Smith and I am a queer, multiracial therapist with a passion for walking alongside others who are a part of the LGBTQ+ community. I have worked in many settings including, schools, community mental health agencies and have a background in providing individual, group, couples and family therapy. I received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2019. I received my trauma informed yoga teacher certification in July 2024.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, open minded and authentic. My goal is to provide a safe space for my clients to explore their many identities as well as empower them to become their most true, authentic and unique selves. My approach to therapy is client centered and led as I believe my clients are the experts on their own journey.

What you can expect from me

I believe the greatest gift the therapy is the therapeutic connection formed between client and therapist and I work to create a safe, welcoming and affirming space for everyone who allows me to walk alongside them on their journey to healing. I hope to encourage and support my clients in growing their self trust, sense of self worth and support them in embodying the truest version of themself to help manage the challenges of everyday life (anxiety, depression, grief, loss, relationships etc.).
