Great to meet you!

Welcome!

I’m Alfahnique Teigen, PMHNP-BC, a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I’m so glad you’re here!

For the past five years, I’ve worked as a state mental health registered nurse and pharmacy technician in North Dakota, where I have had the privilege of walking alongside people during some of life’s most challenging times. Those experiences inspired me to continue my journey as a nurse practitioner so I could provide even more personalized care for individuals and families in rural communities.

My practice is built on evidence-based treatment, human connection, and thoughtful diagnostic evaluations. I specialize in helping children, teens, and adults with a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma and PTSD, eating disorders, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), bipolar, schizophrenia, panic, and substance use disorders (including opioid use disorder).

My approach to therapy

I believe mental health care should have a humanistic connection, feel safe, be thoughtful, collaborative, evidence-based, and tailored to you. I also find that a little humor can go a long way in making the process feel lighter and more approachable. My role is to listen, guide, and work alongside you in a non-judgmental space. Together, we’ll create a treatment plan that supports your unique needs and goals. Everyone’s journey looks different, and I strive to meet each person in their state of change with compassion and respect.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy or medication management can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to go through it alone. In our first session, you’ll find a welcoming, judgment-free space where you can share your story and feel truly heard. I like to bring a sense of humor into sessions when it feels right, because sometimes a little lightness makes the harder conversations easier to carry. From there, we’ll begin taking steps toward healing, growth, and a stronger sense of well-being.

I look forward to walking alongside you on your mental health journey.
