Great to meet you!

A Licensed Mental Health Counselor located in Port Townsend, on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State, I earned a graduate degree with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA in 2019 and an undergraduate degree with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Marymount University in Arlington, VA in 2009.

I am a Registered Yoga Instructor through the Yoga Alliance since 2013 and have certifications in Trauma-Informed Yoga and Trauma-Sensitive Yin Yoga. I also hold a certification in Mindfulness-Based Ecotherapy and Ecopsychology.

I identify as Anglo/Nordic-North American as my ancestors predominantly are from Germany, Scandinavia and Britain, I also identify and hold close the practices of a smaller percentage of my ancestors who were born on the continent I inhabit now called North America.

Growing up on the East Coast I spent a lot of time outdoors in nature, playing sports, swimming, reading and exploring, solitary and in community. I continue to enjoy these activities and all that the Olympic Peninsula has to offer including backpacking, hiking, camping, kayaking, swimming, gardening, moving my body with yoga and laying on the earth when I get the opportunity.

My approach to therapy

I practice as a holistic therapist, meaning that I look at each client as a culmination of their experience; family of origin, the eco-system they live in and came from, as well as any individual attributes they identify with to understand their experience and help be a support and partner on their journey to what wellness and a nourished life may look like.

I help to build a foundation of mindfulness, awareness, coping techniques and general self-awareness as well as utilizing evidence-based practices to help clients achieve their personal goals.

What you can expect from me

Typically I begin by understanding what brings a client to want support, guidance, a change, new perspective, anything they associate with therapy or counseling. From here, we build a plan together or how to achieve, maintain or understand these goals or ideas.

Most sessions will include moments of reflection, opportunities for practicing skills or new perceptions, as well as checking in about day to day experiences. I find the most beneficial work to be done experientially and so while practicing starts in the therapy office, it will also venture into the world with you.
