Great to meet you!

Sometimes our best life can feel out of reach. A part of us feels stuck in cognitive or relational patterns that served us at one time, but do not serve us well anymore. We want to make some changes, but we find ourselves stuck. Poet Mary Oliver asked the question, "What will you do with this one wild and precious life?" I hope that therapy will be a safe place for you to explore, both future goals and past barriers to reaching these goals.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I work from a trauma focused lens and utilize an Internal Family Systems (IFS) framework, as well as some EMDR and somatic training, to support clients to explore their many protective or exiled parts and strengthen Self-identity, with the goal of being Self-led vs led by our protective/reactive parts. With couples I utilize Gottman Relationship method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to strengthen emotional connection and develop conflict management skills.

What you can expect from our first session

I utilize talk therapy, guided imagery and somatic exercise to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for clients to explore feelings and reactive patterns. Clients learn to identify protective parts and develop stronger Self-identity. Therapy is a safe place to do the work to break unhelpful past relational patterns, so as to not bring them into present and future relationships, and so they can move towards a life of intentional purpose and integrity.
