Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with several years of experience working across a wide range of behavioral health settings. My background includes outpatient therapy, crisis intervention and stabilization, trauma work, forensic populations, and collaboration with other behavioral health and medical professionals. I have worked with adolescents and adults from many different backgrounds and with a wide range of concerns and life experiences. I hold master's degrees in Counseling with a specialization in Forensic Psychology.

One of the things I value most about this work is being able to meet people where they are without reducing them to a diagnosis or the circumstances that brought them into therapy. My experience has taught me that people are complex, resilient, and capable of meaningful change, even when they may not currently feel that way themselves.

My approach to therapy

My approach is human-first, client-centered, individualized, and holistic. I don't believe therapy should look exactly the same for every person, so I work collaboratively with clients to understand not only what they are struggling with, but also the experiences, relationships, strengths, identities, and patterns that have shaped them. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and EMDR, adapting my approach based on the individual client and their goals.

My style is supportive and compassionate while also being genuine and straightforward. I believe therapy can provide validation and support while still challenging patterns that are no longer serving you. My goal is to help clients develop greater insight and self-awareness, recognize their strengths, build practical skills, and feel increasingly empowered to create meaningful and sustainable change.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is really about beginning to know and understand you, not just what brought you to therapy, but what has been happening in your life, what you would like to change, and what you hope therapy can offer you. I'll ask questions to better understand your current concerns as well as relevant history, relationships, strengths, supports, and previous experiences with therapy. You will also have the opportunity to ask me questions and talk openly about what you are or are not looking for from a therapist.

You do not need to come into your first session with everything figured out or even know exactly where to begin. Part of my role is helping us make sense of that together. From there, we can begin identifying goals and developing an individualized direction for therapy that feels relevant, realistic, and meaningful to you.
