Great to meet you!

Welcome! My name is Alicia Gonzalez. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. You might find yourself here because you are ready to explore the connections with yourself, others, and the world. I have experience working with clients on issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, grief/loss, family-role issues, unhelpful attachment styles, and Latinx culturally related challenges. My goal is to collaborate with you to hopefully find solutions, understanding, and hope for the future.

My approach to therapy

I approach therapy as a warm, open-minded, and client-centered practitioner. My approach consists of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Psychodynamic interventions. I find my style consists of self-reflection to discover the 'why' behind behaving and thinking in a certain way.

What you can expect from me

A first therapy session can be daunting, so try to remember what the end goal will be. I'll ask about the reason for starting therapy now, and collaborate to determine the treatment goals and direction for sessions.

Expect unconditional positive regard and a safe space to share your struggles. Expect a strengths-based approach to create hope and self-efficacy. Expect gentle challenges to make changes to habits. I will be patient with you to allow you to make change at your own pace.
