Great to meet you!

I’m Alicia McNany, MA, LPC. and I provide online therapy for adults across Texas. The foundation of my work is built on the belief that change is possible. My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and CBT-informed focusing on helping people build skills, gain clarity, and move toward the life they want.

I earned a masters degree in Professional Counseling from Texas State University and have been in practice for over a decade helping clients with concerns like anxiety, depression, anger, relationship patterns, life changes, trauma, and substance or behavioral addictions.

My approach to therapy

I am conversational and collaborative with my clients. While you will do most of the talking, you can expect me to chime in, ask explorative questions, and draw attention to angles that you might not have considered. I do not give advice or tell people what to do as I believe YOU are the authority in your life. I focus on supporting and assisting people in making the best decisions for them and their unique conditions.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we get to know each other. You get to see if we genuinely click working together and I take this opportunity to learn the circumstances that bring you to therapy while constructing a treatment plan based on goals we identity together. Talking with me should feel like a good conversation with an old friend. And by the end of our session, I hope you feel energized and motivated to start making some small steps toward those goals.
