Great to meet you!

Hey there! I'm so glad you found my page. Maybe you are feeling stuck, anxious or alone? Have you gone through a traumatic event that has led to these feelings or have you no idea how you got here? Feeling everyone else is doing life better than you? If any of this resonates with you, you have come to the right place. As a Clinical Social Worker I have worked in child welfare, inpatient psychiatric hospital settings, public schools and public university. I have worked with clients of all ages typically struggling with anger, depression, trauma, grief and anxiety.

My approach to therapy

I understand therapy can be uncomfortable at times which is why I strive to provide a non-judgmental space for you to explore things that might be keeping you from happiness. My approach to therapy differs depending on what the client needs. Some of us need a more gentler approach while others my require a push and this can shift back in forth throughout the therapeutic journey. I like to utilize humor in sessions when appropriate and I don't shy away from difficult topics. My work is grounded in a relational and multicultural approach that incorporates trauma-informed principles, relational-cultural theory, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness techniques with clients. I find these most effective when dealing with anxiety and depression but sessions are catered toward you as you are the expert of your own life and you are driving the therapy ship.

What you can expect from me

Using a relational, strengths-based approach I am always going to meet you where you are but will challenge you not to stay there if it is no longer serving you. I strive to create a safe and empowering space for you to explore the experiences that have led you here and I do this by leaning on connection, non-judgmental, somatic approaches and a splash of humor. We will always start with an introductory where you will have to opportunity to share as little or as much of your story you feel comfortable with. We will work together to help you achieve the goals you want in therapy and become the person you want to be.
