Great to meet you!

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) licensed in Washington state and nationally board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). I earned both my Doctor of Nursing Practice and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees at Pacific Lutheran University.

Before pursuing my career in nursing, I spent 4 years on active duty in the United States Navy. Hooyah!

My professional experience includes working with individuals in both inpatient and community-based settings. Within these settings, I have gained experience treating a variety of different disorders including psychosis and psychotic disorders, mood disorders such as bipolar disorder and major depression, anxiety disorders, OCD, ADHD, PTSD, personality disorders, and substance use disorders.

My approach to therapy

My mission as a provider is to foster strong, trusting therapeutic relationships with my clients where they feel respected and heard. I value a client-centered, evidence-based treatment approach where the individual’s goals and preferences are always taken into consideration in conjunction with providing high-quality care that reflects best practices. Typical treatment consists of individually tailored medication management along with psychotherapy such as CBT, supportive therapy, and motivational interviewing.

I consider myself a lifelong learner and strive to expand upon my own knowledge to better serve each person’s unique needs. I believe in the importance of educating and supporting clients to help them build upon their strengths while developing new skills to achieve greater resilience and higher quality of life.

Psychiatry is my passion and I possess a profound respect for the people I see and care for.

What you can expect from me

Your first visit is a psychiatric diagnostic interview and a chance for us to get to know one another. We will review your history, current concerns, symptoms, and goals in a respectful, unhurried conversation so I can understand what matters most to you. Together we will discuss an evidence-based, client-centered plan that may include individually tailored medication management if it is indicated, along with psychotherapy such as CBT, supportive therapy, or motivational interviewing. My aim is that you leave feeling heard, informed, and clear about next steps.
