Great to meet you!

Hi there! I always knew I wanted to be a therapist since high school. I earned my BSW from Marist College because I am also interested in social justice. I worked for a few years in substance use before I went to NYU for my MSW. I selected NYU because I wanted to learn from a therapists who were also professors. After a few years I also took classes at a psychoanalytic institute to increase my clinical skills because I believe in any profession there is room for growth. I love my profession.

My approach to therapy

Be heard. Feel better. It's a complex, yet simple, approach to treatment.I will metaphorically be where you are. That’s the simple part. The more complex part is to "unpack the baggage" so to speak. What in the past is driving the present? Are there any repetitions or patterns? Is there any past trauma impacting today's day-to-day?These are the questions we will address as together, we roll up our sleeves and dive into the muck. Sometimes you have to visit the muck to get to the other side.

What you can expect from me

My goal is to help you "do the work."

Change is scary. If it was easy- no one would need a therapist. It is my job to help guide you in making steps towards action. " Action may not always bring happiness, but there is no happiness without action." William James.
