Great to meet you!

I’m Alina Punel, DNP, PMHNP-BC, a doctoral-prepared Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to helping individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered in their mental health journey. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from North Dakota State University and my Doctor of Nursing Practice from Texas Christian University. My experience across the healthcare field has shaped my belief that mental health is deeply connected to overall well-being and deserves compassionate, comprehensive care. I provide culturally affirming care in English, Hindi, and Nepali.

My approach to therapy

I take a comprehensive, patient-centered approach that combines evidence-based care with deep empathy. Whether you are navigating depression, anxiety, or life transitions, I recognize that your experiences and cultural background are completely unique to you.

I specialize in a highly collaborative approach, blending conservative, evidence-based medication management with supportive therapy. Together, we will build a validating space that empowers you to navigate life with renewed confidence, ensuring your care plan aligns with your personal goals and overall well-being.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my priority is to provide a safe, welcoming space where you can speak openly without fear of judgment or shame. We will take our time getting to know each other, discussing what brought you in, your background, and your immediate goals. I understand that seeking mental health care can come with barriers, including stigma and the challenge of finding a provider who truly listens. By the end of our initial visit, we will outline a collaborative plan, partnering every step of the way as you take meaningful steps toward feeling better.

Please note: As a 100% virtual practice, I do not prescribe or manage controlled substances (such as stimulants or benzodiazepines). My approach focuses on conservative, evidence-based medication management combined with supportive psychotherapy.
