Dr. Alina Sala, LPCC

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor | Telehealth | Sacramento, CA

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in Sacramento, California, providing telehealth therapy services statewide. With over 30 years of experience as a Rehabilitation Counselor and a Clinical Counselor since 2022, I specialize in helping adolescents and adults navigate anxiety, stress, depression, disabilities, and life transitions.

My approach to therapy

My Approach to Therapy

My therapeutic approach is client-centered, collaborative, and flexible, adapting to the unique needs of each individual. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)—two evidence-based modalities that help clients gain insight, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change. Together, we work to develop a shared understanding of your experiences and create a personalized path forward.

What you can expect from me

I work with adolescents and adults facing a range of challenges, including: ✔ Anxiety, stress, and depression ✔ Life transitions and social pressures ✔ Disability-related concerns ✔ Eating disorders and body image

I strive to empower my clients by equipping them with practical skills and strategies to improve their well-being, self-confidence, and overall quality of life.

My Communication Style

I take a calm, accommodating, and personable approach to therapy, fostering an open and judgment-free space where clients feel heard and supported. Trust is at the core of my practice, and I work to create a strong therapeutic alliance that encourages growth and healing.

My Background & Journey to Mental Healthcare

I earned my undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees from California State University, Sacramento. My passion for helping others has been lifelong—starting as a peer counselor and community volunteer, and later evolving into a career dedicated to supporting individuals through life’s challenges.

What to Expect in Therapy

Our first session is an opportunity for us to connect, discuss your experiences, and explore your goals. I’ll ask questions to understand your concerns, and together, we’ll create a plan that supports your growth and well-being. My goal is to provide a supportive, empowering, and effective therapy experience tailored to your needs.
