Great to meet you!

I'm so happy you are here!

Being the strong one all the time is exhausting, and you are allowed to say that out loud. Maybe you're the one everyone comes to for advice, but no one asks how you're doing. Maybe you're navigating who you are against who others expected you to be. Or maybe you just need a space where you don't have to explain yourself before you can be understood. That's the space I offer.

I earned my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in School Psychology, and I am a licensed psychologist and licensed school psychologist. My professional background includes working with children, adolescents, and adults across a range of emotional, behavioral, developmental, and psychological concerns. I also provide psychological evaluations and support individuals and families navigating complex life circumstances. As a bilingual Haitian-Creole and English-speaking psychologist, I value the ways culture, family, identity, and lived experiences shape how we understand ourselves and our mental health.

I work with adults, with a particular interest in supporting young adult women, including those navigating immigrant, first-generation, or multicultural family dynamics. I support clients working through anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, relationships, identity, life transitions, and the family and cultural expectations that can come with becoming your own person.

I work with people who may have spent years being everything for everyone else and are ready to make space for themselves, too. My goal isn't just to listen. It's to help you better understand yourself, make meaningful changes, and build a life that actually feels like yours.

My approach to therapy

Our work will make room for both the person you are and the relationships, culture, responsibilities, and experiences that have shaped you. We’ll explore how anxiety, depression, stress management, women’s issues, and trauma may be affecting your emotional wellbeing, relationships, and sense of self. I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you recognize patterns in thoughts and behaviors that contribute to distress and practice healthier ways of responding, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy to help you notice difficult thoughts and emotions without immediately becoming overwhelmed by them, and Motivational Interviewing to explore change without pressure while strengthening your own reasons for moving forward. Narrative Therapy can help you examine the stories you have developed about yourself and your experiences and make room for perspectives that better reflect who you are today, while Person Centered Therapy keeps your needs, values, and lived experience at the center of our work. Our sessions will be collaborative, affirming, and grounded in the reality of your life rather than expecting you to fit into a predetermined version of therapy.

What you can expect from me

Whether this is your first time in therapy or you've been before, our first session is really about getting to know you.

We'll start with your story: what's been going on, what led you here, and what you're hoping will change. You don't need to walk in with the right words or a plan for where to start. We'll figure that out together.

We'll talk about what's been weighing on you, what's important to you, your strengths, and what you're hoping therapy can actually do for you. You'll also get a feel for me and how I work so you can decide whether we're a good fit.

My hope is that you leave that first session feeling heard, a little lighter, and with a clearer sense of where we go from here.
