Great to meet you!

Welcome! I'm Alison Bankston, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship concerns, self-esteem, and stress.

My background includes working in both school counseling and private practice settings, supporting individuals through some of life's most challenging seasons. I have experience working with veterans, adolescents, young adults, and individuals coping with grief, identity concerns, family conflict, and major life changes.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and person-centered. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills while tailoring treatment to each client's unique needs and goals. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported as you work toward meaningful change.

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, navigating a loss, or simply looking for a place to process life's challenges, I would be honored to walk alongside you in your healing journey.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine partnership. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe exploring difficult emotions, challenging life circumstances, and personal growth.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each individual's unique needs. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, and trauma-informed practices to help clients better understand themselves, develop effective coping strategies, and move toward meaningful change.

I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, stress, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, and adjustment difficulties. I also have experience supporting veterans, young adults, and individuals navigating major personal or professional transitions.

I believe healing is not about becoming a different person. It's about understanding yourself more fully, building resilience, and learning to respond to life's challenges in ways that align with your values and goals. Whether you are facing a specific concern or simply feeling stuck, therapy can provide a space for insight, growth, and lasting change.

What you can expect from me

My goal is to provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing your story. During our first session, we'll discuss what brought you to therapy, explore your current concerns, and identify goals that are meaningful to you.

Together, we'll develop a plan tailored to your needs while building a therapeutic relationship based on trust, collaboration, and respect. My hope is that you leave your first session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the path ahead.
