Great to meet you!

Maybe you’ve been carrying more than usual lately: a loss that still feels heavy, worry that follows you to bed, or a change in life you didn’t ask for. You don’t have to sort through it alone. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and for the past nine years I’ve supported people through anxiety, depression, stress, grief, and the hard questions that can come near the end of life. Much of my work has been with older adults, helping them adjust to the changes that come with aging, whether that’s health, independence, relationships, or saying goodbye to someone they love. I also work with people healing from trauma and navigating strain within their families. Whatever brings you here, I want to hear it in your own words.

My approach to therapy

I don’t use one formula for everyone. I pay close attention to what you already do well, because those strengths are often where real change begins. Depending on what fits you, we might look at the thought patterns that keep anxiety or low mood going, practice mindfulness so stressful moments feel more manageable, explore how shifts in your relationships or roles are affecting your mood, or break down a specific problem that’s been weighing on you. If grief is part of what you’re facing, we’ll move at a pace that feels right, without rushing you to “move on.” If trauma is part of your story, I offer Cognitive Processing Therapy, a structured way to work through painful memories and the beliefs that formed around them. We’ll choose the direction together, and you’re always welcome to tell me if something isn’t working for you.

What you can expect from me

Our first meeting is mostly a conversation. I’ll ask what’s been going on, how it’s affecting your day-to-day life, and what you’d like to feel different. You can share as much or as little as you’re ready to, and there are no wrong answers. I’ll also leave time for your questions about me, about how therapy works, or anything else on your mind. My hope is that you’ll leave feeling a little lighter for having said things out loud, with a clearer sense of what we might focus on together. As we continue, our work can help you build practical ways to handle stress and difficult emotions, understand yourself more deeply, and feel steadier as life changes. Reaching out is often the hardest part. When you’re ready, I’d be glad to meet you!
