Great to meet you!

Hi there! My name is Alison (she/her). I am passionate about helping young adults in their 20s and 30s navigate difficult emotions and life stressors, and I specialize in anxiety, panic attacks/panic disorder, and OCD.

I got my MSW from Metropolitan State University of Denver and received my license (LCSW) in 2019. I have worked in community mental health, residential facilities, and schools, which has given me the enriching experience of working with people from all walks of life. I started my private practice in 2020 and have deeply enjoyed working with folks experiencing anxiety, panic attacks/ panic disorder, and OCD.

My approach to therapy

Therapy with me looks like:

  • Weekly or bi-weekly 50-minute sessions so we can keep that momentum going
  • Using a combination of the following:

- Mindfulness: a practice of being in the present moment nonjudgmentally and without attachment

- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): learning and using skills to help regulate emotions

- Internal Family Systems (IFS): to explore and understand yourself on a deeper level

- Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT): to gain more awareness of your thinking patterns and what’s helping vs getting in the way

  • Regular check-ins to make sure you’re getting what you need out of therapy
  • Unwavering support and compassion from me

What you can expect from me

Our first session will focus on identifying your goals and what you'd like to get out of therapy. Whether those goals are concrete or abstract, we will work together as a team towards them, and I will check in with you regularly to make sure you're getting what you need out of our time together.

My hope is that by the end of therapy you will have a toolbox of skills that help you manage your experience, and that you will feel empowered and confident in your ability to handle the inevitable ups and downs in life.
