Great to meet you!

As someone who has undergone her own adversities, I can sincerely say that I know how elusive achieving change and growth can be, but I also know that change is possible. Navigating through the difficulties and stressors that life inevitably brings us can be challenging and difficult to do alone, which is why I am a firm believer that healing begins the moment we feel heard. I have worked in mental health clinics, inpatient psychiatric settings and group practice settings, but have found that I excel in private practice where I have the ability to offer one on one, individualized psychotherapy.

My approach to therapy

My theoretical orientation is psychodynamic, which means I assist in uncovering my clients’ unconscious feelings, thoughts and behaviors that impact their present ways of living and relating. By bringing these hidden parts into awareness, you can then begin to understand why you feel or behave a certain way. Through understanding, you will begin to have more choice and control, instead of being driven by automatic, unseen forces. I will warmly challenge you, and I am very much an active participant in sessions!

What you can expect from me

In the first session, I really want to get to know you, but I also respect that telling a new person very intimate, personal things can be anxiety provoking. Above all, the focus is on making sure you, as the client feel supported, heard, and safe, so that real, lasting progress is possible.
