Great to meet you!

I hold a Master’s degree from Jacksonville State University and am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I have nearly three years of experience providing mental health services, with a focus on working with children and adolescents. I am passionate about helping young people navigate emotional, behavioral, and social challenges while building confidence, coping skills, and resilience. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where each child feels heard, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.

My approach to therapy

I use a collaborative, client-centered approach to help individuals identify their strengths, overcome challenges, and work toward meaningful goals. My practice incorporates evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, Family Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and psychoeducation. I tailor my approach to each client’s unique needs, developmental level, and personal goals while creating a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to grow and make positive changes.

What you can expect from me

From the very first session, my goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves. I understand that beginning therapy can feel intimidating, especially for children and adolescents, so I focus on building trust and establishing a genuine therapeutic relationship before expecting clients to share difficult or personal experiences.

During the first session, we will get to know one another, discuss what brought the client to therapy, identify current concerns and strengths, and begin exploring goals for treatment. With children and adolescents, I use developmentally appropriate conversations, activities, and play-based interventions to help them feel comfortable and engaged. When appropriate, parents and caregivers are included to gain a better understanding of the client's needs and establish ways to support progress outside of therapy.
