Great to meet you!

Hi there! I’m Alissa Hodge, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s degree in Social Work and a Graduate Certificate in Military Social Work from the University of Central Florida. I’m a trained clinician with extensive experience providing individual therapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and I believe therapy is most effective when you feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with people from many different backgrounds and in a variety of settings, including with military veterans, individuals struggling with addiction, adults involved with the local jail system, parents navigating DCF case plans, individuals in rehabilitation programs, and clients receiving outpatient healthcare services. While each setting has been different, my clinical focus has consistently included anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, and addiction.

My approach to therapy

I approach each client as an individual, taking the time to understand their experiences, strengths, challenges, and goals rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

One of the things I value most about my work is creating a space where people feel comfortable enough to be vulnerable and truly open up. I’ve been told that I have a way of making others feel at ease, and I believe that empathy, genuineness, and authenticity are essential to building a strong therapeutic relationship.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy—you simply have to be willing to take that first step. Ultimately, my goal is to meet you where you are, help you better understand what you’re experiencing, and work alongside you toward meaningful change. Therapy can be difficult at times, but you don’t have to navigate it alone.

What you can expect from me

In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions and then dive into the specific challenges you are facing. I also like to gain an understanding on your expectations and ask about past experiences with therapy to learn what has worked for you and what I can do to help you get the most out of therapy. Subsequent sessions will be tailored towards your goals and expectations; however, I always welcome (and encourage) questions and feedback from my clients if they are not receiving what they need (such as homework, their progress, etc.).
