Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Alissa! As a board-certified, doctorate level, psychiatric nurse practitioner, my goal is to increase access to care for children, adolescents, and adults living with neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism, learning or communication differences), and co-occurring depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, binge eating, and alcohol/ substance use disorders.

My personal experiences with ADHD deeply informs my compassionate, understanding, and transparent approach. Additionally, I specifically offer prescriptions for alcohol use disorder- including naltrexone, vivitrol, acamprosate, and disulfiram. I am also comfortable safely prescribing stimulants to individuals with ADHD.

My specialty is less geared towards helping individuals living with anger management, homicidal ideation, history of violence, oppositional defiance disorder, conduct disorder, narcissistic personality disorders, or anorexia nervosa. I share this as I believe folks deserve transparency on true experience levels and care that appropriately meets their needs.

My approach to therapy

I believe great mental health care means looking at the whole picture — mind and body. I use carefully chosen medications and functional medicine to get to the root of what's going on. Functional medicine techniques might include targeted lab work, nutritional considerations, and lifestyle factors that are often missed in traditional psychiatric care. I also work closely with your therapist, primary care provider, and other members of your care team to make sure nothing is overlooked.

What you can expect from me

Within our sessions, you can expect:

  • deeper exploration of factors impacting your symptoms
  • full transparency of the pros and cons of medication and non-medication treatment options and to be fully included in your care plan.
  • You will be treated with respect and without judgement.
