Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Allen and somehow you have landed on my corner of the internet looking for ways to gain understanding, tools, or help with the challenges of life. People can think that counseling is a wave of the wand and things are fixed, but counseling can be tough, and often life gets more challenging before it gets better. However, the more we pause, acknowledge, and confront things we have missed or ignored is the same measure counseling will be beneficial for you.

My approach to therapy

Allen uses key principles from CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness, and Narrative Therapy to partner with clients to develop new systems and narratives to achieve their therapeutic goals. You will find a safe nonjudgmental environment to process and reflect on your situation, learn healthy ways to better cope, and the accountability to implement new skills and tools that lead to a more fulfilling life.

What you can expect from me

The number one factor in determining of counseling is beneficial is our relationship. This space should be conducive to vulnerability and talking about things you feel you cannot with others. The goals of counseling are different for everyone, but generally center around acknowledging what you can, cannot, and should not control; and acknowledging your thoughts and emotions and creating a healthier relationship with them.
