Great to meet you!

Allison received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from ASU and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has clinical experience working with adults of all ages experiencing anxiety, depression, grief/loss, transition difficulties and trauma. She is trained in EMDR, a model of therapy that seeks to bring adaptive resolution to adverse life experiences. She also incorporates elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients build needed skills and address cognitions that interfere with positive life experiences. Allison spent almost 25 years as an educator before becoming a therapist and especially enjoyed her last three years teaching introductory college courses.

My approach to therapy

Allison views the counseling relationship as a partnership where her skills simply complement the strengths her clients bring to the process. She approaches each client with “unconditional positive regard” and structures each session with the individual’s needs in mind. Allison strives to create a safe and warm environment conducive to healing. She encourages clients to find balance and healing through meaningful spiritual practice and healthy lifestyle choices.
