Great to meet you!

Welcome! I’m Allison Hurwitz, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist with more than 30 years of experience helping children, teens, and adults navigate life’s challenges. I’m licensed to provide virtual therapy throughout New Jersey and Florida. I have a special interest in supporting people living with chronic illness, as well as those experiencing anxiety, ADHD, grief, relationship concerns, and life transitions. I love getting to know each person’s unique story and helping them discover strengths they may not yet recognize.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy works best when it reflects the unique person sitting across from me. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing, so I tailor therapy to each person’s unique strengths, needs, goals, and life experiences. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and accepted as we work together to better understand what you’re going through and find approaches that truly fit. Depending on your needs, therapy may include: conversation, art therapy, mindfulness, practical tools and strategies, or a combination of approaches. When words aren’t enough, art therapy can offer another way to express emotions, gain insight, and move toward healing.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we’ll focus on understanding your experiences, exploring what’s bringing you to therapy, and identifying the strengths you already have to build upon. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming space where you feel comfortable being yourself, sharing your experiences, and talking openly about what’s on your mind. Together, we’ll begin developing an approach that feels meaningful, manageable, and tailored to you.
