Great to meet you!

I'm Allison, being a clinician, for me is a calling. Yes, corny but true. As a teen, I realized that working with people, understanding their story, & engaging in understanding their lived experience; is the best way to start change. Thankfully, my experiences allowed me to meet largely diverse populations. I've heard first hand from clients, as part marginalized groups, the trouble they have had gaining thorough & quality care. As a clinician & human, I want to be a part of positive change.

My approach to therapy

I work with each client differently. I don't believe in a one size fits all approach. Everyone is so different. Whether through their lived experience, triumphs, barriers, and/or strengths; or through a cultural lens that is different from my own. I always focus on evidence based practice. I engage with each client after their 2nd session regarding treatment planning. Explaining my reasoning, what treatment will look like & the expected outcomes. All the while addressing client questions.

What you can expect from me

Each client will define that for themselves, I begin sessions with reviewing last weeks session, identifying if we completed homework from last week & if not, what were the barriers, and collaboratively setting the agenda for today. Often times if I am utilizing a manualized approach I will give an overview of the approach to the client on the first day. If we need to shift do to crisis management, we always address that first. They should expect to leave session, having felt heard and validated
