Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Allison. I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist who has been in private practice since 2018. I previously worked in dual diagnosis treatment centers for addiction/ mental health for seven years. I help individuals, couples and families improve communication, rebuild connection, and navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and confidence. Many times clients who contact me have no experience in therapy, but just know that their life is not satisfying or something is off. That's enough by the way! Anything and everything can be discussed in therapy. I have frequently been told I'm easy to open up to, and clients often feel relieved that I am more directive than a therapist who listens without guidance. I enjoy cheering on my clients' wins, but also being there for the hard moments, and genuinely love what I do.

My approach to therapy

I have over a decade of experience working with individuals and couples in various settings, what kind of interventions I use depends on what is necessary as each person/ couple is unique in their goals/ problems. This may include solution focused therapy, attachment-based interventions, communication and conflict-resolution skills training, premarital and relationship enrichment counseling, family systems therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, Gottman method or others.

What you can expect from me

The first session is all about connection and clarity. We’ll talk through what’s been weighing on you, what you’re hoping to gain from therapy, and how I can best support you. You don’t need to prepare anything perfectly or have all the answers — just come as you are.
