Great to meet you!

If you are looking to grow by breaking out of old patterns, reducing unhealthy coping strategies, and creating a more balanced life, therapy is a great place to start. In treatment, I work to create a supportive environment where clients can feel safe, receive feedback, and set and achieve realistic goals by focusing not just on presenting problems, but strengths, hope, and resiliency. I treat teens who feel hopeless, stressed adults who struggle to keep afloat, and older adults who may be having difficulty in aging. I enjoy actively engaging with my clients throughout session, using humor when appropriate, and being direct when necessary. I also find it essential to address the mind-body connection in treatment for a holistic approach to wellness.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is through the use of evidence-based, trauma-informed strategies, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which I cater to each individuals' needs. In session, this could look like processing difficult memories in a safe, supportive environment which assists in emotion regulation. Engaging in guided deep-breathing techniques during session is used to help get the body out of fight-or-flight as well as treat anxiety, panic, physical tension, chronic pain, and more. For ADHD, this may look like creating a list of strategies to improve focus and attention, improving school/work performance. I meet you where you are in life and bring an education in a variety of modalities to each session. Because although consistency is key, adaptability is also very important in treatment.

What you can expect from me

The intake session, as well as future sessions, will be 50 minutes via video.

I take a relaxed approach to my first session with a client because I have always found it more important to engage with someone and slowly gather intake information through several meetings as opposed to starting with a formal assessment. It may be slightly nerve-wracking to start with a new therapist or to start therapy for your first time! I will not leave you hanging. Whether you come prepared with topics to discuss or you don't know where to start, I will guide session but also allow you full control to go at a speed that feels right. This is your time and space.
