Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Ally! In my practice, I truly believe that "it is the connection that heals." To me, this means that it's important to build trust, empathy, and safety in my work with clients. It's these aspects of connection that allow the clients I work with to heal and grow. I work with clients struggling with a wide variety of issues from stress, anxiety, and depression to trauma, mood regulation, identity conflicts, family issues, and more.

My approach to therapy

I offer a number of approaches to mental health and will work with you to figure out what works best for you! First and foremost, I am trauma-focused and believe that trauma underlies many of our struggles as people. I am also trained in CBT, DBT, and ACT, and believe that they can be quite helpful! When I work with you as a client, I help you find what your own personal strengths and goals are. I'm curious and empathic... that's what has driven me to be a counselor.

What you can expect from me

During sessions, I generally follow the client's lead on what they want to prioritize. I will always come into the session with a few potential ideas/directions, but I want to make sure clients get what they want out of the session.

I will always do more listening than talking- my aim is to help you explore your inner thoughts and feelings, and to help you reach your own conclusions. I'm happy to teach specific skills or provide information, if that's a style that works for you.
