Great to meet you!

Hi, My name is Alma Ramirez LCSW, MSW, PEL, I am based in Illinois. I received my masters in social work degree in 2019 from Loyola University Chicago and have been working in the mental health field for 12 years with 8 years of therapy experience. I truly enjoy helping others feel listened to, accepted and coming up with solutions for life’s unpredictable difficulties. I enjoy working with both adolescents and adults and look forward to helping you navigate through what ever comes or has come your way! I help individuals cope with break ups, weight management issues and a need for an increase in motivation and structure in their lives.

My approach to therapy

Let’s find your Path to Well-Being with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Are you struggling with relationship challenges or navigating significant life changes? You don’t have to face it alone with a therapy style that uses both CBT and DBT methods. I’m a compassionate and empathetic therapist dedicated to supporting you through life's ups and downs. With a modern approach that combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I create a safe and nurturing environment for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. Tailored sessions focused on your unique experiences and goals.Together, we’ll develop effective strategies to manage relationship struggles and embrace life changes gracefully. CBT and DBT help client’s experience a healing journey that fosters resilience, emotional regulation, and healthy relationships. When you feel understood, cherished, and empowered, transformation happens. Let’s work together towards a brighter future!

What you can expect from me

In our first session, the focus is entirely on YOU and the vision you have for your well-being. We will begin with comfortable introductions to build a foundation of trust, followed by a collaborative exploration of what you hope to gain from our time together. Using a solution-focused lens, we will identify the specific challenges you wish to prioritize and begin crafting a tailored treatment plan that aligns with your unique goals. You can expect a safe, non-judgmental environment where your voice leads the way in designing the strategies and tools that will empower your transformation.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Having worked with multiple diagnosis and life situations I believe that my greatest strengths are in my patience, acceptance, flexibility honesty and empathy that I can offer to my clients. With a strengths and client centered approach I ensure that the focus is on you in order to ensure that every session is being beneficial and a learning and positive experience for the client.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy helping individuals who feel a little lost, need that extra push or want something new. I have had great success helping those who have experienced traumatic break ups, vocational stress, self esteem difficulties and life transitions. Trauma, anxiety and depression are areas that I truly enjoy taking my time to break down with my clients.
