Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is Alo. I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist and author of "Am I Trans Enough?" I specialize in working with the LGBTQIA+, polyamorous/non-monogamous, and kink communities. I've been a therapist for the past 10 years and often help people work through questions around their identity, relationships, depression, anxiety, and trauma.

A bit about my approach to therapy

You are the expert of your own experience so I strive to work with clients collaboratively. We will work together to find the strategies that will be most helpful to you. My technique integrates feminist and postmodern styles of psychotherapy and I always works to see mental health through an intersectional lens. That means understanding you as a whole person with your own unique background.

What you can expect from our first session

Therapy can be awkward in the beginning! It takes time to build rapport but my goal is to create a space where you feel safe and comfortable to discuss whatever you need. In time, hopefully therapy becomes a space where you can share the highs and lows, process the heavy stuff, and even occasionally laugh.
