Great to meet you!
I am a life-long resident of New York. After serving for many years in the corporate administrative field, I accepted the call on my life to make a career change to the mental health field.
I completed my Masters of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling at Nyack College. I also hold a CASAC Level II (Credential for Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling).
In my career as a clinician, I have held positions of Clinical Counselor with VIP Community Services and Lexington Center for Recovery and currently as Substance Abuse Specialist with the ACT Team under Greater Mental Health of NY. My strengths include, but are not limited to, Substance Use Disorders, Active Listening, and Motivational Interviewing.
I bring to counseling cultural sensitivity, empathy, genuine positive regard and the ability to relate to my clients. I sincerely embrace a client/person centered theory approach to counseling, which brings autonomy to the client's experience. I firmly believe that we can all benefit from the counseling experience at some point in our lives and I welcome the opportunity to walk along side you in your journey of healing.
