My name is Alva and I am a Dallas native, a former elementary school teacher, a former college advisor, an interpreter, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. As a therapist I enjoy working with children, teens, families, in addition to working with students and young adults.

I received my Bachelor of Sociology from the University of North Texas, a Master of Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington & a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Counseling from Texas University of Theology.

My approach to therapy

My counseling approach will include the following modalities: Child Therapy, Family Issues, Parenting, Faith, Ministry, Spirituality, Self Esteem, Trauma, EMDR Therapy, Minority Issues, Hispanic Culture, Domestic Violence, Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults, Career Exploration, Grief, Life Adjustments & Transitions. I am also a SYMBIS certified instructor for couples seeking premarital counseling.
