Great to meet you!

Welcome! I'm Alycia (pronounced Uh-lee-sha) and I'm glad you found me. I am a licensed clinical social worker offering virtual therapy to those struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress management, low self-esteem, and social skills. I have a master’s degree in social work but before that I was in neuropsychiatric research. My current practice in supporting individuals with their mental health combined with my experience in exploring the mechanisms behind a variety of behaviors and conditions provides me with a unique perspective to offer my clients.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is centered around building a trusting relationship so that you feel comfortable addressing what challenges you. I am open-minded and aim to tailor sessions toward your needs. I am collaborative in my approach and focus on your strengths. I ask questions, offer support, and provide a listening ear. I enjoy bringing humor into sessions (where it’s welcome) because therapy doesn’t have to always be getting into the “nitty gritty”. Sometimes we all need a good laugh to get through some tougher moments.

What you can expect from me

I offer a brief phone consultation prior to the first session so that we can discuss what you’re looking for in sessions and in a provider so you can determine if we may be a good fit. In the first session I begin getting to know you and you begin getting to know me. We will talk a little bit about what brings you to therapy and begin building a roadmap of where you hope to go with it. If you’re unsure, that’s okay! I can ask questions aimed at helping you in determining what it is that you are here to explore and discover. We will start with whatever is most comfortable for you. I’m here to support you.
