Great to meet you!

Welcome! I’m Dr. Alysia Sierra, a clinical psychologist with nearly 10 years in private practice. I am also a certified mindfulness meditation teacher. Areas of expertise include anxiety disorders, PTSD & attachment trauma; relationship struggles; perfectionism and codependency; imposter syndrome and burnout; substance use disorders; OCD. I have extensive expertise working with: high achievers, healthcare providers, first responders, athletes/performing artists, parents who feel stuck.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My clients often described me as warm, caring, genuine, trusting, honest and direct. They will all tell you that I really "get" them because my innate curiosity leads me to ask questions that help my clients and I understand what might be out of their conscious awareness at times. My primary values as a therapist are awareness and understanding, compassion, and acceptance. I will accept you for who you are, even when you can't or it seems no one else will.

What you can expect from our first session

In our work, you will learn how to have a trusting, deep, honest, and meaningful relationships with yourself and others while building practical skills to cope with what is often an unpredictable and uncertain world. You are invited to bring your whole self into therapy--the good, bad, and ugly. When the work is done, you will still experience successes/failures; ease/hardships; gains/losses; joy/anger/fear; love/hate. But you will be able to accept it all with more clarity, compassion and ease.
