Great to meet you!

Hey there! Alyson here, although many kids and families in Eagle County know me as Mrs. B, as I have spent the last 5 years working in elementary schools as a licensed school counselor and licensed school-based therapist. Originally from GA, I have called CO home for the last 12 years. I enjoy spending time with my family, getting out in nature, traveling, and live music. I enjoy working with kids and adults alike and have experience treating a wide variety of issues. I believe that anyone and everyone can benefit from a safe space, compassion, and a listening ear. As a therapist, I pride myself on my ability to connect with my clients and develop strong therapeutic relationships. That relationship is the foundation of our work together and the largest predictor of therapeutic growth. Please come as you are to each session, and I will meet you there.

My approach to therapy

With a variety of therapeutic tools at my disposal, I draw from evidence-based practices to help clients process and work through their struggles in a way that feels most effective for them. I am trained in a variety of approaches and integrate techniques from expressive arts therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, art therapy, and sandtray. Additionally, I have specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which is particularly helpful for those processing trauma and distressing memories.

What you can expect from me

I believe in creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their emotions, thoughts, experiences, and challenges. My therapeutic approach is client-centered, meaning I meet each client where they are, honoring their unique journey and needs. I strive to build a trusting, collaborative relationship with each client, tailoring our sessions to best support their growth, healing, and well-being. Whether a client is seeking relief from past trauma, managing anxiety, or navigating life's transitions, I am committed to meeting my clients with empathy and flexibility, and empowering them to discover their own path toward healing and growth.
