Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Certified K-12 School Counselor, school based Mental Health Counselor, and a National Certified Counselor. I have expertise in anxiety and stress management and ADHD. With over a decade of experience in counseling, my focus is on alleviating anxiety and aiding children in comprehending their emotions, guiding them towards expressing these emotions in beneficial ways. My passion lies in fostering the growth and development of children, aiming to nurture their fullest potential and best selves. I am dedicated to supporting children in laying a strong foundation for their social and emotional development. I pull from a variety of techniques that are based completely on the needs of the client.

My approach to therapy

I focus on helping children and youth understand and manage their emotions in healthy ways, with particular expertise in addressing anxiety and stress. Through compassionate counseling, the goal is to empower young clients to navigate their feelings effectively, fostering emotional resilience and well-being. I offer a safe space. Every voice, every feelings matters, no matter the age.

What you can expect from me

  • Clients can expect a relaxed conversation about what brings them to counseling,
  • time to discuss their current concerns, symptoms, strengths, and goals.
  • As well as questions about the client's personal, family, medical, school/work, and social history to help me understand the bigger picture. Clients will have the opportunity to share what has and hasn't worked in the past and a chance to ask questions about the counseling process and what to expect. Clients can also expect collaboration in identifying priorities for treatment. The primary goals of our first meeting are to build trust and establish a positive therapeutic relationship. It is also for me to gain a thorough understanding of your concerns and how they are affecting your daily life and to identify the clients strengths, supports, and coping skills. We will
    • complete an initial assessment to determine the client's treatment needs and develop individualized treatment goals based on what is most important to the client. We will also discuss recommendations for future sessions and answer any questions the client may have.
    • By the end of the first appointment, the client can expect to have:
      • A better understanding of the counseling process, a safe place where the client feels heard, respected, and supported. As well as initial plan for treatment tailored to the client's unique needs. Clients can also expect practical recommendations or coping strategies, when appropriate. Finally, a plan for next steps, including scheduling future appointments and discussing the frequency of sessions.
