Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Alyssa Ashley, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with over 10 years of experience. I take a client-centered approach incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy and family systems work to support healing and growth. I've had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, young adults, adults and families across a wide range of concerns.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic style is grounded in a humanistic approach. I believe in meeting you where you are and building a strong, supportive relationship from there. I integrate a variety of evidence-based techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, and other proven models to help you challenge unhelpful thoughts, express emotions more effectively, and set realistic, achievable goals. I also emphasize the importance of self-esteem and self-care as essential foundations for creating balance and lasting change in your life.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my focus is on building rapport because a strong, trusting relationship is the foundation of effective therapy. I want to hear your story and understand what brings you in, at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I believe in creating a safe, supportive space where you can be yourself. While I offer warmth and empathy, I’m also direct when it’s helpful, gently challenging unhelpful patterns to support your growth. Many clients say they feel truly seen and heard in our work together like they’ve had a meaningful conversation with someone who understands, and come away with insight and progress.
