My approach to therapy

Alyssa takes a client-centered approach with a very down-to-earth and straight forward communication style. Alyssa is solution-focused in her approach and encourages acceptance of emotions and learning to "sit with" difficult feelings.

Alyssa believes humor and comfortability is important in the therapeutic relationship.

What you can expect from me

Sessions with Alyssa are often psychodynamic and psychoanalytic. Your take away will be a review of several new perspectives, ideas, options and solution focused strategies to implement or simply ponder.

Alyssa ensures that sessions end on a good note, with grounding, meditation, or a goal-oriented discussion to leave you feeling validated, respected, supported, and providing you with ideas and strategies to implement until your next session.
