Great to meet you!

I’m Alyssa, a Licensed Professional Counselor with 16 years of experience working with individuals across the lifespan, from childhood through older adulthood. I’ve spent my career in a variety of behavioral health settings supporting people through life transitions, emotional challenges, family stress, and personal growth.

I earned my Master’s degree in Psychology from Evangel University and my Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Literature from Ozark Christian College. My background includes both counseling and leadership roles, which gives me a well-rounded perspective on the real-life pressures and responsibilities many people carry.

Outside of work, I’m a big believer in enjoying life’s simple moments. I love going to concerts, trying new restaurants, and continuing to learn through education and personal growth. These parts of my life help me stay grounded and relatable, and I enjoy connecting with clients as real people — not just the challenges they’re facing.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and focused on helping clients create meaningful change. With over 16 years of experience across inpatient, outpatient, and community behavioral health settings, I help individuals better understand patterns, strengthen coping skills, and navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence.

I strive to create a space where clients feel heard, respected, and comfortable being honest about their experiences. At the same time, I gently challenge clients toward growth by combining insight with practical strategies they can use in everyday life. Together, we focus on building emotional stability, improving relationships, and developing tools that support long-term well-being.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and building a comfortable, supportive connection. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, review relevant background, and explore your current concerns.

I’ll also complete an initial assessment so we can identify goals and begin creating a clear plan for moving forward. You can expect to leave the session feeling heard, understood, and with a better sense of direction for therapy.
