Great to meet you!

Alyssa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker & Therapist. She studied Behavioral Sciences in undergrad where she fell in love with learning about why people behave the way they do. She went on to receive her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work at The University of Houston. Alyssa trained in acute mental healthcare, where she worked with patients to address a critical moment of their mental health in inpatient psychiatric care. From there she moved to outpatient care & individual therapy where she enjoys working with clients on meeting their long term goals & processing lingering issues that hold them back from reaching their full potential.

Alyssa understands that it’s not the happy moments in life that bring people to therapy, but she firmly believes that true strength comes from rebuilding.

My approach to therapy

Alyssa is a social worker to her core, and integrates social work values into her therapeutic interventions with clients. Alyssa prefers an eclectic approach to therapy, utilizing tried and true methodologies like CBT and DBT techniques, but she also loves integrating experiential therapy like art, somatic exercise, and anything that emphasizes the mind and body connection.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to find validation and acknowledgment, be challenged to make meaningful change, and co-create a peaceful space to sort through their difficulties in order to move ahead.
