Great to meet you!

If anxiety, trauma, or the weight of constantly holding it together is running your life, I can help. I'm Amanda Blassl, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-C, a nurse practitioner double board-certified in family practice and psychiatric mental health. My clinical background spans post-operative and hospital nursing, then family practice and urgent care, before I specialized in psychiatry. I also teach nursing students in pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, and psychiatric clinical practice.

I work with clients age 16 and older, with particular interest in anxiety disorders, trauma and PTSD, OCD, and first responders, along with perfectionists and people-pleasers used to holding everything together. I also treat panic disorder, social anxiety, depression, bipolar and other mood disorders, PMDD, ADHD, insomnia, and other stress-related conditions. When I'm not practicing or teaching, I'm spending time with my husband, daughters, and two sweet kitties, Ivy and Winter. I love to travel, hike, visit new places, and read books!

My approach to therapy

My approach starts with getting to know the whole person, not just a diagnosis. I take your history, current symptoms, and life circumstances into account, then build a plan together that might include medication, therapeutic techniques like CBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, or trauma-focused therapy, and practical coping strategies suited to your goals and your life. I communicate in a warm, affirming way, with clear structure and direction when you need it, especially around medication and next steps.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a full 60-minute visit, so we have plenty of time to talk without feeling rushed. I'll ask about your history, current symptoms, past medications or hospitalizations, your family, social, and medical background, and we'll spend real time on your goals and any questions you have. If you've been seen elsewhere, I'll request those records so I have the full picture. By the end of the visit, you'll leave with a clear plan, whether that includes medication, specific coping strategies, or labs, and your next appointment already on the calendar. My goal for that first hour is for you to feel heard and to know exactly what happens next.
