Great to meet you!

Anxiety rarely arrives with a clear label. Neither does trauma, or the weight of family dynamics that have felt the same for years. For 25 years, I have worked with adolescents, adults, and families through anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional dysregulation, behavioral challenges, relationship and family conflict, school-related stress, crisis situations, and major life transitions.

A significant portion of my career has been providing therapy in schools, where I built working knowledge of special education, IEPs, behavioral supports, and what it takes to navigate those systems alongside a child and their family. That perspective, combined with broad clinical experience across many settings, shapes how I approach every client.

My name is Amanda, and I am an LCSW based in New Jersey, trained at Kean University. What draws me to this work is a genuine belief that people have more capacity for change than they often realize when they feel truly supported and understood.

My approach to therapy

Effective therapy, in my experience, combines two things: understanding where patterns come from, and building practical paths forward. I help clients make

connections between their experiences, behaviors, and emotional responses so they can better understand themselves and begin to create meaningful change. My work draws on both insight-oriented and solution-focused strategies, always guided by what feels most relevant and helpful to each person in each stage of treatment.

I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, understood, and free to show up as yourself. My style is warm and collaborative. I am committed to meeting you where you are, listening without judgment, and staying steady through the work of figuring out where you want to go.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where we begin getting to know you and what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current concerns, experiences, and goals, while also beginning to explore patterns and connections that may be contributing to what you’re experiencing. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, so we’ll work together to identify what feels most important and develop realistic, meaningful steps forward. Most importantly, I want you to leave feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the work we can do together.
