Great to meet you!

I graduated from Boise State University with a master’s in social Worker and have been practicing in the field for over 17 years. I began my clinical practice as the director of a small rural Mental Health Clinic in Idaho; we specialized in serving those with high acuity needs. I then transitioned to the Department of Veteran Affairs where I have been honored for the past 14 years to serve Veterans and their families.

My philosophy and belief is that no matter the circumstances or whom I am working with, I am here to join my client on their personal journey and make sure they always feel heard and respected, as we travel the road towards healing together.

My approach to therapy

My psychotherapeutic approach is working with individuals, Veterans, couples, and families to learn how their life experiences often have sculpted and impacted their schemas (belief of self and the world around them). I work with the clients through a solution focused approach to help individuals break self-defeating patterns of behaviors and emotions that are impacting their lives.

My approach is always supportive and believing that you’re the expert of your own life, and the power for change is within you. I am here to join you on your journey towards healing. We will utilize my expertise in the clinically appropriate treatment method that you feel meets your needs. Over the past 17 years the methods that I have commonly utilized include: Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focus Therapy, Cognitive Therapy-SUD, Narrative, WRAP, grief therapy, and coping skills. No matter what you are facing or going through, together we can achieve a level of understanding and growth that allows you a deeper level of peace.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is spent on us getting to know each other. This is your time to really ask questions and to interview me to determine if I am the appropriate clinician for you.

As we go through the assessment and explore your uniqueness through a holistic approach, you will be able to determine if you feel a connection and a comfort that will allow you to engage with me as your therapist.

Together, we will discuss what brought you in today, and the impact you would like to see on your life. We will explore how to reach these goals through the use of different modalities that will help you to become empowered in your life
