Great to meet you!

I am Amanda Caruso, M.Ed., LPC, a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to creating a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where people feel genuinely heard and supported. I believe that every person has strengths, resilience, and the ability to create meaningful change—even during life’s most difficult seasons.

My counseling experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults through individual and family therapy. I provide both in-office and telehealth counseling and help clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, OCD, chronic pain, grief and loss, caregiver stress, relationship and family concerns, and significant life transitions.

My approach is strengths-based, client-centered, and collaborative. Rather than focusing only on problems or diagnoses, I help clients recognize the strengths they already possess and build practical skills that can be used in everyday life. Depending on each person’s needs, I incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused CBT, mindfulness, grounding techniques, emotional-regulation skills, and supportive problem-solving. I believe therapy should move at a pace that feels comfortable and emotionally safe for each client.

Above all, I want my clients to know that they do not have to face life’s challenges alone. My goal is to provide a comfortable place where you can speak openly, better understand yourself, build confidence, and take realistic steps toward a healthier and more fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy

I provide a warm, supportive, and strengths-based approach to therapy. I hope to assist individuals in recognizin their existing strengths while developing practical skills to manage anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, chronic pain, grief, and life transitions. I incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused CBT, and mindfulness techniques to meet each client’s unique needs. I believe every person deserves a safe place to feel heard, heal, grow, and create meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

Your first therapy session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another in a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment. I will invite you to share what has brought you to counseling, the challenges you are currently experiencing, and what you hope to gain from therapy. We may also discuss important parts of your history, current relationships, support system, and personal strengths.

You will not be expected to share everything at once. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable and emotionally safe for you. I believe that you already possess valuable strengths, abilities, and resilience, and together we will build upon those qualities as you work toward healing and meaningful change.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and practical. Depending on your individual needs, I may incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused CBT, mindfulness, grounding techniques, emotional-regulation strategies, and practical coping skills. We will work together to identify your goals and create a treatment plan that feels realistic and personal to you.

Most importantly, your first session is a place for you to feel heard, ask questions, and determine whether I am the right counselor for you. You deserve a place to heal, grow, and feel heard.
