Great to meet you!

Finding a therapist who understands your life should not require spending your sessions explaining or defending who you are. I provide affirming, sex-positive, and trauma-informed therapy for adults, with particular experience working with LGBTQ+ individuals, members of the kink and BDSM communities, and people navigating consensual non-monogamy (CNM), polyamory, and other alternative relationship structures.

I also work with adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship concerns, identity exploration, stress, grief, and major life transitions. My practice is inclusive of veterans and active-duty military members, and I provide gender-affirming support and letters when appropriate.

I bring more than 11 years of experience in the counseling field, including six years in private practice. I am an LPC in Alabama and Georgia, an LMHC in Florida, a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider (BC-TMH). My goal is to create a space where you can talk openly about what is actually happening in your life without worrying that an important part of who you are will be misunderstood or judged.

My approach to therapy

Therapy with me is collaborative, practical, and tailored to you. I do not believe there is one approach that works for every person, so I draw from cognitive behavioral, humanistic, strength-based, solution-focused, motivational, and psychodynamic approaches based on your needs and goals.

We may explore patterns that have kept you feeling stuck, examine how past experiences continue to influence the present, develop practical coping strategies, or work toward changes you want to make in your life. I will challenge you when it is helpful, but I will also meet you where you are. You do not have to perform, censor yourself, or have everything figured out before coming to therapy.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for me to get to know you and understand what brought you to therapy, what is happening in your life right now, and what you would like to be different. We will talk about your history, current concerns, relationships, strengths, and goals at a pace that feels manageable.

You do not need to arrive with the perfect explanation for what is wrong or know exactly what you want from therapy. We will figure that out together. I will also explain how I work, answer your questions, and begin developing a plan that fits your needs. Most importantly, the first session gives both of us an opportunity to determine whether I am the right therapist for you.
