Great to meet you!

I'm Amanda Gilchrist, a licensed professional counselor who specializes in supporting women navigating ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and the complicated weight of trying to hold it all together when your brain just doesn't work the way the world expects it to.

I earned my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have worked across both public and private sectors in South Carolina and Georgia, supporting people through crisis response, trauma-informed care, care coordination, and behavioral health integration. That work taught me to see the whole person — not just the diagnosis — and to meet people where they actually are, not where a checklist says they should be. I bring that same lens into private practice today.

Specialties: ADHD in Women, Women's Issues, and Trauma/PTSD

My approach to therapy

I show up as both human and therapist. I'm not here to pathologize you or hand you a one-size-fits-all plan. I'm here to help you understand why you work the way you do — and to find strategies that actually fit your brain, your life, and your nervous system. Clients often tell me they feel truly seen, and that I strike the right balance of empathy and gentle challenge. My background in trauma, EMDR, and care systems means I can hold the big picture while staying closely attuned to what you need right now.

What you can expect from me

We'll slow things down. No checklists, no rushing to "fix" things. I want to hear what brought you here, what you're carrying, and what you're hoping for. You won't have to explain yourself perfectly — I'm used to nonlinear storytelling, and honestly, I think it tells me more than a neat summary ever could. You'll leave with a sense of being understood and a clearer direction forward.
